Large Earnings warnings are generated when employees earn larger than normal amounts during a given pay period. To review Clarifications click on the corresponding number of Large Earning Warnings in the Recent Activity box on the Main Menu. The Clarifications: List page will appear. Click the corresponding employer code to review a report and provide responses. Click on the Enter Response button to enter the request information for each employee. Once selecting an employee, the following screen will appear. The salary for the reporting period may be allocated to regular salary and as many as three large earnings responses. Depending upon the response chosen, additional information may be required. For reasons requiring a breakdown, after entering the Pay Range Begin Date, enter the salaries for each period and click Calculate Contributions to fill in the Retirement Contribution column. If complete, click Next Page to move to the next reason. For any contributions that should not have been reported to OPERS, or have been reported in error, a refund will be initiated after resolving the large earnings response. Upon completing the response, you will be given the opportunity to review the information you have submitted. If you need to make any changes, you can click Previous Page to move back through the screens. If you wish to save your response without submitting, you can click the Save button. If you are ready to submit your response, click the Submit button. Then you will see the Confirmation Page. For any large earnings for which you have started a response, or have submitted a response that was rejected, click the Edit Response button to review or change the entered information. When reviewing responses that have been rejected, you will only be able to edit those reasons that do not have a refund associated with them. Other fields may be edited. You will be able to provide a corrected response and/or resubmit the breakdown. Large earnings will not be considered resolved until all required information has been received. Large earnings that remain unresolved for 30 days will result in notification being sent to the affected employee(s). |
