Help Menu > Online Payments: Scheduling a Payment for a Report

To schedule a payment for a submitted report, click the Online Payments button, then the Payment Remittance Advices link.

A summary of all pending liabilities will be displayed. From here you can either schedule a Paperless Payment (ACH) or submit a Payment Remittance Advice (Form E-3) The E-3 is built into the paperless payment process. Once registered for ECS, only employers sending paper checks or wire transfers are required to complete the E-3.

 

 

 

If you select Payment Remittance Advice (E-3), you have the option of entering a check number.


 

 

If you select Paperless Payment (ACH) you must select a bank account from which the payment will be made. You also must enter a payment date. The payment date is the date the funds will be taken from the selected bank account.

Note: In order to create a Paperless Payment (ACH) you must have a bank account set-up on ECS.

Once you’ve selected your payment type you have two options: Pay Net Liability or Select Liabilities for this Payment.


 

 

If you select Pay Net Liability,all of the pending Employee and Employer liabilities as well as any credits on the account will be applied to the payment. You will then be taken to the Early Retirement Incentive (ERI) Payments screen.


 

If you Select Liabilities for this Payment, you will then be taken to the Employee Liabilities screen to select the employee liabilities to pay.

Once you’re finished selecting the employee liabilities you want to pay, click the Next Step link and you will be taken to the Employer Liabilities and Credit screen.

Note: Once you select a liability to pay you have the ability to change the amount you want to pay towards the liability.

Note: Liabilities listed in RED are past due.

 

When you are finished selecting the employer liabilities you want to pay, click the Next Step link and you will be taken to the Early Retirement Incentive (ERI) Payments screen.

Note: You must select an Employer Liability in order to apply an available credit.

Note: Any credits selected will be immediately applied and will remain applied, even if the payment is subsequently cancelled.

If you don’t have any ERI payments to make select the Next Step link to proceed to the Verify Payment screen.

The Verify Payment allows you to review the liabilities that make up the payment you are making.

 

When you’re ready to submit your payment or payment instructions click the Submit to OPERS button and your information will be transmitted to OPERS and a page will be displayed with some basic information about your payment. If you wish to see a more detailed description, click the Review Payment Remittance Advice button.

Click the Print button to print a copy for your records, or click the Done button to return to the Online Payments screen.
