Help Menu > SSN Look Up

SSN Look Up was developed to allow employers to determine if an individual is an OPERS Benefit Recipient. Once you have logged into ECS, you can access SSN Look Up by selecting the Online Forms button, then the SSN Look Up link.

The SSN Look Up screen will appear where you can input an SSN or name and date of birth.

If the SSN entered does not belong to an OPERS Benefit Recipient, the following message will appear. If hiring this individual, an electronic form A should be completed.

If the SSN entered belongs to a benefit recipient, the following message will appear. If hiring this individual, an SR-6 should be completed. The SR-6 will satisfy the requirement of the employer providing Notice of Re-employment of an OPERS Benefit Recipient (form SR-6) or a Retired Elected or Appointed Official to an Elected Position (form SR-6E). No additional paper forms will be required.

To search another SSN, select the Search button. If finished select Done.
